This solves a problem I had.
I put an outro on the end of my YouTube videos. Mine had a QR code — scan this, buy the thing.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Then I found out that Amazon doesn’t like that.
Deleting the whole video isn’t an option. They have views, comments, and links pointing at them.
Which leaves YouTube Studio. Open a video. Go to th Editor. Trim & cut. New cut. Drag the handle to the right spot. Tick the box that says this is permanent. Confirm. Wait. Back out. Next one.
Times a few hundred.
That’s tedious.
So I made this extension, and it does the work for you.
You tell it how many seconds to cut off the end. Then you pick how much to do: just the video you’re looking at, every video on the current page of your YouTube Studio, that page and every page after it, or your whole channel. Click a button and go do something else.
If you want, it will look for a QR code first and only trim the videos that actually have one. The rest it leaves alone.
Nothing gets re-uploaded. Your videos keep their URLs, their views, their comments, and their place in everyone’s playlists. It’s the same edit you’d make by hand — just made for you.
One thing worth knowing: YouTube took away the option to undo a trim. Once it’s saved, it’s saved. So the extension remembers every video it has already trimmed and won’t touch one twice. You can also tell it to set up each cut and let you press Save yourself. Back up your originals before a big run.
And you can stop it whenever you want. Open it again later and it picks up where it left off.
