Privacy Policy for Link Swapper

Last updated: April 24, 2026

This policy describes what information the Cha-Ching Link Swapper browser extension (“the extension”) collects, how it’s used, and who it’s shared with. The extension is published by Average Guy Making Money (“we,” “us”) and is designed to convert Amazon affiliate links inside YouTube Studio video descriptions to and from third-party link services.

What the extension collects

Email address. You enter your email address in the extension’s Pricing page so we can check whether you’re entitled to use the Geniuslink conversion feature (either via a Cha-Ching Automate license, a prior one-time purchase, or the free 5-conversion trial). Your email is sent to our license server and, if you make a purchase, to Stripe.

Geniuslink API credentials. If you choose Geniuslink as your conversion target, the extension asks for your Geniuslink API Key and API Secret. These are used only to create short links on your behalf via the Geniuslink API (api.geni.us) and are stored locally in your browser. We never transmit these credentials to our servers.

Amazon affiliate tag (Store ID). If you enter one in Settings, it’s stored locally in your browser and included in the Amazon URLs the extension produces. We never transmit your Store ID to our servers.

YouTube video descriptions. When you run the extension, it reads the description text of videos on your YouTube Studio Content pages and edit pages to find Amazon links that need converting. Descriptions are processed locally in your browser. The URLs of individual affiliate links are sent to third-party link services (Geniuslink, PostTap, and/or the amzlink.to redirect resolver) as needed to perform the conversion. The surrounding description text, video titles, thumbnails, view counts, and other channel data are not sent anywhere.

Usage metadata for billing. When you run a Geniuslink conversion, the extension reports a count of conversions performed to our license server so your credit balance can be debited. No link content, URLs, or description text is included in this report — only a count, your email, and an opaque request ID.

Diagnostic logs. Our license server records the fact that an entitlement check or credit-consume request was made for a given email, plus the server’s response. These logs exist for debugging and fraud prevention and are not used for marketing.

What we do NOT collect

The extension does not collect or transmit your browsing history, cookies, the contents of web pages outside of YouTube Studio video descriptions, your Google account details, your YouTube analytics, your viewers’ information, keystrokes outside the extension’s own input fields, or any form of tracking identifier.

Payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe via their hosted Checkout page. We never see your card number, CVV, or full billing details.

How your information is used

  • Entitlement verification: to determine whether you can use the Geniuslink conversion feature and how many conversions remain.
  • Purchase processing: to create Stripe Checkout sessions and, upon successful payment, grant you unlimited access or add pack credits to your account.
  • Link conversion: to produce short or direct affiliate links via your chosen target service.
  • Support and debugging: to investigate issues you report, verify purchases, and detect abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profile-building.

Third parties your data is shared with

  • Stripe (payment processor) — receives your email and payment details when you purchase credits or the unlimited plan. See Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Geniuslink (api.geni.us) — receives the Amazon URLs you convert and the Geniuslink API credentials you supply. Only reached if you select Geniuslink as your conversion target. See geni.us/privacy-poli….
  • PostTap (creators.posttap.com and amzlink.to) — if you select PostTap as your conversion target, the extension drives the PostTap web interface in a helper tab to create short links on your behalf. You log in to PostTap directly; we don’t see your PostTap credentials. See posttap.com/privacy.
  • Amazon (amazon.com and amzn.to) — for the purpose of creating links to and from your standard affiliate link.

Where data is stored

  • Email, credit balance, purchase history, and diagnostic logs are stored on our license server at cha-ching-automate.a….
  • Geniuslink API credentials, your affiliate tag, and your conversion target preference are stored locally in your browser via Chrome’s storage.local API. They never leave your device.
  • Stripe retention is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

Retention

  • Email and credit balance records are retained as long as you have an account with any remaining credits or a completed purchase on file.
  • Diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
  • You may request deletion of your account data by emailing us (see below).

Your rights

You can:

  • Delete the extension at any time to stop all local data storage.
  • Email us to request deletion of your email address and any associated credit/purchase records. Note that purchase records we’re legally required to retain for tax purposes may be retained in pseudonymized form.
  • Email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Children

The extension is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for existing users, display a notice in the extension popup the next time it’s opened.
