Cha-Ching Channels (“the Extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and where that data goes. In short: it stays on your own computer.
Overview
The Extension has no server, no user account, and no analytics. Nothing it reads about you or your channels is ever transmitted to the developer or to any third party.
Data We Collect
All of the following is read from YouTube channels you own and stored locally on your own computer:
- Channel information — the channels you choose to connect, their titles, IDs and subscriber counts.
- Analytics for your own channels — daily views, estimated minutes watched (split between Shorts and long-form), subscribers gained and lost, traffic sources and audience retention, for up to 400 days of history.
- Video and playlist details — titles, descriptions, tags, durations, publish dates, view counts, and your playlists and their contents.
- Authorization tokens — the OAuth access and refresh tokens Google issues when you sign in to your own account.
- Your settings — the Google Cloud client ID and secret you supply, your nightly refresh time, theme and notification preferences, and a short log of the Extension’s own recent runs.
No personally identifying information is collected. The Extension contains no feedback form, no contact form, and no tracking of any kind.
How We Use Your Data
- On your computer: to draw the dashboard, chart each channel’s history, and estimate how close each one is to the YouTube Partner Program thresholds.
- On your channels: when you use one of the Boost tools and confirm the change, the Extension writes to your own YouTube channels — through Google’s API, or by driving YouTube Studio in a tab. Each tool shows exactly what it is about to change before anything is sent, and asks first.
- Nowhere else: none of it is sent to the developer, and none of it is shared with, sold to, or disclosed to any third party.
What We Don’t Collect
The Extension DOES NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier
- Your Google or YouTube password — sign-in happens on Google’s own consent screen, and the Extension never sees it
- Payment or financial information
- Your browsing history, or any data from websites other than youtube.com and studio.youtube.com
- Location data
- Usage analytics, telemetry, crash reports or any other tracking
Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored in your browser’s own extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer. The developer operates no server and has no access to it.
- All network requests are made over HTTPS, and only to Google’s own endpoints: Google’s sign-in and token services, the YouTube Data API, the YouTube Analytics API, youtube.com and studio.youtube.com.
- The Extension runs no remote code. Every script it executes is included in the package that Google reviewed.
Data Retention
- Data stays on your computer until you remove it. Erase stored history in Settings deletes it.
- Uninstalling the Extension removes everything it has stored.
- Export all data writes a copy to a file you choose, on your own machine. Sign-in details are stripped from that file by default; you may choose to include them, and the file records which kind it is.
Your Rights
- You may erase everything the Extension has stored, at any time, from Settings.
- You may revoke the Extension’s access to your YouTube account at any time from your Google Account’s permissions page.
- You may export a complete copy of everything the Extension holds about you.
Third-Party Services
The Extension communicates only with Google. It calls the YouTube Data API and the YouTube Analytics API through a Google Cloud project that you create and control, using credentials you supply — so the API access is yours, not the developer’s. Google’s handling of that traffic is governed by Google’s own Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
The Extension’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Cha-Ching Channels is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Consent
By using Cha-Ching Channels, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
